I apologize to all the readers of this blog for not posting anything in awhile. I confess that I have let the things of this world distract me from the responsibility that God has given me. On top of that, I let the guilt that came with my sin get in the way of being obedient to the Lord. That is how sin usually works; it gets you to do something you should not do and then burdens you with guilt and shame to prevent you from doing what you should do. These are called sins of commission and sins of omission
Lucky for me (and anyone who accepts Jesus as your savior), I have a God that is merciful and forgiving. David states in Psalm 103: 8-10:
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
How great is it to have a God that is abounding in steadfast love. That means He will never stop loving us no matter what we do or do not do! Notice it says “He will not always chide us” not “keep his anger forever. He will be angry with us and chide or scold us, but just for awhile. I might add how long depends upon us and the attitude we take when being scolded. v10 really means the most to me. I know I do not deserve His mercy or grace, but He does not judge me on my sins. The cross took care of that for me, and can take care if it for you too.
No matter how bad the sin, I repeat – no matter how bad the sin, God loves you and will forgive you if you just surrender to Him and accept his gift of salvation give to you through the blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
With God’s help and guidance I hope to be more diligent in my postings.
